Terms & Conditions
1. Any dogs joining Wild Trails co. services will be under a 1-month trial period that we may wish to extend where necessary. We will communicate any concerns we have about your dog should we believe that they are not suitable for our services. We are happy to recommend trainers in the local area should we feel that your dog would benefit from this.
a. Unfortunately, we cannot help you with training as this is not a service we provide (we can personally advise). Our walks will provide a lot of breed fulfilment, exercise and stimulation which quite often is enough to help with certain behaviours. Although it is advisable that one walk/day a week will not suffice to changing your dog’s behaviour. The ideal situation for you to be in to change your dog’s behaviour is to have a trainer or behaviourist work alongside your walking needs that we can provide. We often have clients who are working with a trainer, and we are then able to implement their training requirements on our walks – it’s important everyone is on the same page to see progress. We want what is best for you and your dog.
2. All dogs looking to join our Adventure Day Care will have to have a mandatory 1 month (or more if required) trial period on Solo walks for us to accurately assess whether they are suitable for our Adventure Day Care. We hold a high standard for our Adventure Day Care and have 3 criteria’s that your dog needs to consistently meet;
a. Loose lead walking (no excessive pulling)
b. Engagement
c. Reliable recall
Should your dog struggle with one of the above, we are happy to help them progress but if there are no signs of progression or your dog does not meet any of the criteria’s then unfortunately, they will not be able to join our Adventure Day Care or continue to stay on them and will have the option of Solo walks. This is to ensure the safety of the pack and to keep a calm dynamic within the pack. No good will come if a dog upsets the pack dynamic and we will not force a dog to stay in the pack if they are not capable or enjoying themselves. Please note that each dog is required to walk with us at least once a week and on the same day(s) each week to ensure consistency with their bonded pack.
3. We ask that all owners are flexible & cooperative with moving their dogs between Adventure Day Care and Solo’s where necessary. It is normal for dog behaviour to regress, and this can be for several reasons. We are more than happy to move your dog on to Solo walks to give them the 1-1 time that they deserve and to help them get back on track.
4. Full Day Adventure Day Care is 5-6 hours – pick up between 9am & 10am. Drop off between 3pm & 4.30pm
Morning Adventure – pick up between 9am & 10am. Drop off between 12pm & 1.30pm.
Afternoon Adventure – pick up between 12pm & 1.30pm. Drop off between 3pm & 4.30pm.
5. If your dog displays stressful behaviour (i,e trembling, shaking, panting, drooling, sickness) with travelling and/or goes to the toilet in our van then unfortunately we won’t be able to continue with Adventure Day Care.
6. We will notify owners of any situation requiring immediate veterinary treatment. Alice is Canine First Aid trained but not a veterinary professional. In an emergency, Alice will bring your dog to the nearest vet in the first instance and then contact the owner.
7. Alice must be informed of any cancellations no less than 24 hours prior to any services commencing. Should you give less than 24 hours’ notice, you will still be charged for the service. Cancellations must be communicated via phone call or text on 07704 816284.
8. If your dog has been unwell with vomiting or diarrhoea within the past 24 hours, then we will not be able to walk your dog until it has been cleared for at least 48 hours. Please do let us know if your dog has had any injuries prior to their walks commencing. If your dog has been suffering with a cough or has kennel cough symptoms, then we will not be able to carry out any walking services for at least 48 hours.
9. If we cannot access your property when we turn up to collect your dog, then the above cancellation policy will apply. We will give leeway if you are able to provide alternative access at the time.
10. We ask that we are given at least 2 weeks’ notice for any services. If you message us last minute to book a walk, we will try our up most best to fit them in but cannot guarantee a space.
11. Invoices will be sent on a monthly basis and payments are to be made monthly on the 1st of each month - I will invoice you a week before it's due. If your dog joins us in the middle of a month, you will be charged just for the remaining weeks of that month, and then start afresh on the 1st. If payment is not made by the due date, Alice holds no obligation to walk your dog(s) until the payment has been made.
PLEASE USE YOUR INVOICE NUMBER AS THE REFERENCE.
Please get in touch if you have not received an invoice. If you fail to pay the invoice by the due date, then we will add a late payment charge of £10 to your next invoice.
12. We will take videos and photos to keep and upload on to our social media pages & website and share on the private WhatsApp groups. Please let us know if you do not want your dog included on social media, or if you do not want to be included in the private WhatsApp group.
13. Solo Walks will be on a first come first serve basis. We ask that you give us a time slot of earliest and latest time that you would be happy with. We will do our best to fit your dog into our diary where we have availability.
a) Dogs who are home alone or who have separation anxiety will be prioritised first.
15. Any bitches in season will be on mandatory solo walks until their season has finished. They will not be able to be in any group setting whilst in season. We do accept intact males but please tell us if your dog has any behavioural or sensitivity issues. We are happy to manage sensitive and/or reactive dogs.
16. We are happy to walk your dog on their usual equipment, but should we find it safer or more appropriate to walk them on tools of our choice then we will, provided you have given permission in your sign up forms. We are happy to discuss alternative training tools and show you how to use these yourself should you wish to use them. We often use slip collars/leads, martingales, harness’, flat collars etc.
17. Should you need to terminate your recurring walks, we require 4 weeks notice.
18. Any disrespectful or uncooperative behaviour from clients regarding our services or any decisions we make regarding your dog will result in an immediate termination of services. NO notice will be required.
19. If your dog displays any behaviours that we deem to be dangerous or unwanted that you have not previously disclosed or communicated with us, then this will result in an immediate termination of our services. NO notice will be required.
